beachside is a continuous loop inspired by the old fashioned screensaver. If you have time to get lost, it is safe to get lost here. Toggle full screen. Try listening with headphones for an immersive experience of beachside binaural 3D vocals.
Enter the depths, an austere landscape washed with dark tones, greens blues blacks. The scene is one third above. Two thirds below. A gentle lightening and darkening teases the surreal scene. Gives the feeling of current, the feeling of time. The above gently swells and rolls. Like a deep breath, a slow exhale and a repeat. The below sounds deep and base and rooted, a distant rumble, a ground.
A small flock of playful lifeforms rise from the depths of the centre frame.
An abrupt wipe. A sharp diagonal cut through the swells. A perfect cross section of Wind and current. A meeting of elements. A meeting of undulating spaces below and above. Everything is as it is, as though we’re not really there peeking in peeking under peeking through this static stable distant window. You have the best seat in the house over there on the other side of the screen somewhere in your world. Where there is no overwhelm of drowning. No crashing wave against your face. No sting of salinity calling from your vigilant mucal ports. No sputtering, gasping or grasping. Just the soothing Siren chorus set against an early evening sky’s horizon and a rising, falling, breathing, rolling, undulating pale blue liquid crystal membrane.
The Ocean scent is umami. Umami as oysters and urchins and sea greens.
A sudden wipe. A sudden and abrupt wipe. A descent. Down, down into the shoals. Into the Darkness. Into the Abyss, a vanishing, a point, a distant underwater destination.
The diaphanous creatures of this ethereal Oceanic otherworld frolick presently in play with the ether above and the viscosity below.
They travel above and they travel below –breaching, diving, flying, swimming, flocking, schooling, shoaling, approaching, dispersing –indifferent to our witnessing. Indifferent to our physics.
A wipe. A sudden and abrupt wipe. A deep inhale. A slow exhale. Repeat.
Breathing swells rise and roll, come and go. Come and go, rise and roll. The breath is refreshing. Cool and crisp. Slow and deep. Cool and crisp.
A deep inhale. A slow exhale. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

These beautiful tumbled iceberg boulders scale from a handful to the size of a small car. They are magical mobile slow liquid bits of pure and vital drinking water sculpted by the sea carried to the land. Over 10,000 years old. Glowing a distinct teal blue that concentrates toward the centre. They are a collective and autopoietic bloom breathing with the swells. Immersed in the electronic hum, urban intensity, concrete, glass, cars and exhaust and garbage bins and extreme wealth disparity, enslaved to the anthropocene, detached from Source, it is easy to forget, or to simply not remember to remember, how we humble human creatures constitute perhaps an atom each over geological time to the unimaginable complexity of this sublime and curious planet.
We played. We experimented. We ran out of computing power and decided to take beachside in another direction.
